QUESTS [JUNE-AUGUST] [ARCHIVED]
JUNE-AUGUST [ARCHIVED]
DRYAD QUESTS
★★☆☆☆ They Crave That Mineral
Magic powers many things, and one of the richest natural sources can be found in the Crown Mines. These glowing lavender rocks are a byproduct of large, burrowing, subterranean creatures known as Auramouths, consuming and digesting various minerals. To find them, one must go deep into the mine and find one of the creatures burrows, follow the winding tunnels and gather the deposits of crystals, without disturbing or harming the Auramouths, as they are a vital part of the ecosystem and the precious gems they produce are necessary to power everything from simple machinery to grand skyships.REWARDS: 5 Bones per crystal (max 30 bones) | Non-Dryad bonus: 10 bones
★★★☆☆ Cleanse The Infection
Many animals that live in the forested areas outside of Maple Crest and Oak Run have become afflicted with a wasting sickness the locals refer to as The Rot. This disease causes a frightening madness in even the most gentle of creatures, and can not only spread to other wildlife but can taint the natural flora and crops. Brave hunters and trackers are needed to venture into the forest to find and slay these tainted creatures. Local alchemists and healers have also requested the acquisition of live specimens, so that they may better study The Rot and, with time, find a way to cure it.REWARDS: For each slain beast: 5 Bones (max 30 bones) | Live Specimens: 10 Bones (max 20 bones) | Non-Dryad bonus: 10 bones
★★★☆☆ The Ultimate CRONCH
Biffen, a renowned researcher of the magic infused gems that can be harvested from the mines, has made a remarkable discovery: a previously unknown type of crystal uncovered in a newly dug tunnel. He’s eager to get a sample back to his lab to experiment and learn all there is to know about it. There’s just two problems: one, the crystals are quite large, and must be harvested whole so as not to interfere with the integrity of Biffen’s research, and two, the gemlins that creep about in the mines. These creatures will eat anything that sparkles, and the process of hauling such a large payload from the mines will be slow and arduous. Biffen is asking for a group to guard the crystals being hauled out, to fight off the gemlins and make sure it reaches his lab at Grey Ward without having some bites taken out of it.REWARDS: 30 Bones per crystal (one max) | Non-Dryad Bonus: 10 bones
★☆☆☆☆ The Children Yearn for the Mines (Part 1)
Children are disappearing from the outer villages of Dryad territory, and their parents feel unheard and dismissed by the guards, insisting that their type only care about problems that affect the wealthier citizens of Grey Ward. They’re begging for help to find their lost children and have scraped together a reward for any information that can be uncovered. Asking around for sightings, one who does enough digging and asks enough questions will be put on a path towards Giant’s Rest. Exploring the paths, several tangible clues can be found: a lost shoe, a beloved toy half-hidden in the brush, a piece of torn cloth on a bush, some tiny footprints. Alas, the trail dead-ends at the foothills of the mountain, as though the children disappeared into thin air.REWARDS: 5 bones | Non-Dryad Bonus: 5 bones
★☆☆☆☆ Farmer's Market Friction
It’s the same story every year: Gourdmill and Berry Burrow show up to the annual farmer’s market to show off their finest crops and homemade goods crafted from their fine produce, and every year a fight erupts. Sabotage is attempted (or at least, claims of sabotage are made), food is thrown, jars of pumpkin butter and blackberry jam are smashed, tears are shed, someone calls Mount Gourd by it's proper name, and after much wailing and gnashing of teeth a massive mess is left to clean up. The head judge and master of ceremonies, Phineas Phrell, is frankly sick of it, and is hiring extra help to keep it from happening again. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to keep the gourd obsessed and bitter berry peddlers in line by any means necessary (DISCLAIMER: not any means. You can’t murder and maim people. He didn’t think this needed to be spelled out. Just keep them from fighting each other!)REWARDS: 5 bones per day over 5 days, can sign up for as many days as you like, but bearing in mind working means not enjoying the farmer’s market festivities. | Non-Dryad Bonus: 5 bones
★★☆☆☆ Tea for Three
Local housewife Mary Katherine desperately needs some fresh greens for her legendary summer salad to take to her weekly brunch with her dear, dear friends. She really doesn’t care for the offerings at the Berry Burrow market and prefers wild greens for a more peppery bite. The specific leaves grown around Woodpertinger burrows, pale yellow five petaled flowers with short green leaves that have serrated edges and tiny white spots…poisonous? Why don’t be silly, dearie, they aren’t poisonous! If you could just collect her a nice little bag full of the leaves, stems, and flowers, that would be just duckie! REWARDS: 10 bones a bag (woodpertingers bite if annoyed) (max 20 bones) | Non-Dryad Bonus: 5 bones
UNDINE QUESTS
★★☆☆☆ Tipping the Scales
The local apothecaries are requesting sea serpent scales for a few medicinal brews. Unfortunately, sea serpents aren't exactly willing to give them up without a fight, and the apothecaries would prefer not to kill them for a handful of scales. If you can find a way to retrieve the scales without killing the sea serpents, the reward for each will be all the sweeter. Sea serpents are long, snake-like creatures dwelling not far from the surface of the water, their shimmering, iridescent scales often mistaken for those of a (sometimes) friendlier mermaid. They are aggressive and will attack anyone or anything that treads into their territory, but they have notoriously bad eyesight so if someone is quick and intelligent enough, plucking a few scales shouldn't be too difficult.
If you want to really play it safe, check the coral reefs or serpent nests within them. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a few rogue scales that have been shed. Do keep an eye out though, they do get very protective of their nests.
REWARDS: Per scale: 10 Bones (max 30 bones) | Serpent alive: 5 bonus Bones | Non-Undine Bonus: 10 Bones
★☆☆☆☆ Mother of Pearl
Help! It's my anniversary and I forgot that this years theme is pearl! Could you please head down into the shallows and gather the pearls from oysters for me? I'd go myself, but being of the land, I just don't have the lungs for it. Either a bunch of little ones or one big one. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with them, but it'll probably be fine!
Oysters are found in the sandy shallows and are fairly docile. The problem in retrieving their pearls lies in how difficult it is to pry the shells open. Small ones can be hit against a rock, smashed, or pried open with a knife. The bigger ones, however, might need a little more elbow grease. And if you don't have the shell propped open, it could snap down and crush you.
REWARDS: Small pearl: 5 (max 15 bones) OR large pearl (1): 20 Bones | Non-Undine bonus: 10 bones
★★★☆☆ Temple Run
The local temple near Salt Spire has been raided by sea pirates, the offerings to Cordelia stolen and the statue defaced. The local Keepers are asking for assistance in rebuilding, fearing their ruler might end up displeased should she leave her tower and see the damage. They need your help gathering supplies and shipping them to the temple because, unfortunately, the sea pirates are still nearby and ready to pounce on the poor Keepers any chance they get. Sea pirates are nasty sons of bitches. Undines gone rogue for various reasons - money, an enjoyment of criminal acts, adventure, you name it - they have all the abilities of an Undine and intimate knowledge of the sea, making them quite difficult to best in their home turf underwater. They ride in on various sea animals adorned with plenty of sacks to stash their plunder, and are armed to the teeth with spears and other polearms suited to underwater combat. Cordelia would prefer them taken in and seen to trial for their crimes, but if impossible, she does not balk at the choice to kill them.
Bringing along at least one Undine would be recommended, but it’s not impossible for non-Undines to partake in this quest - they just need to get creative. Sea pirate ships are usually anchored on the surface nearby so they make multiple trips on a raid, and only lightly guarded, for instance…
REWARDS: 10 Bones per returned supplies (50 max bones) | Non-Undine Bonus: 20 Bones
★★☆☆☆ The Little Mermaid
A young mermaid named Ariella has become infatuated with an elven woman named Erikka on land despite being engaged to be wed to another merfolk. She runs away every night to see her beloved at the shore and her family has had enough. If you can convince Ariella to stop this nonsense and go through with her arranged marriage you will be handsomely rewarded.Alternatively, you can help Ariella escape to the land to be with her true love. She doesn't wish to abandon her family to live a life on the land, but if that's what it takes to be with Erikka, she can be convinced.
REWARDS: Ariella returns to the sea and her betrothed: 50 bones OR Ariella flees the sea to be with her elven lover on land: 20 bones. | Non-Undine bonus: 10 bones
★★☆☆☆ Tea for Three
Local housewife Anna Beth will not be outdone again at the weekly get together with the girls, but she will be gosh-darned if she's run out of her secret ingredient for her sea potato salad: squid ink! Please won't you fetch her some? She would be ever so grateful. All you have to do is get some ink from a giant squid, and Anna Beth has been kind enough to provide you with glass bottles to do so. Either annoy the squid enough for it to ink, or kill it. But don't tell her if you do, you'll just break her heart!
REWARDS: 10 Bones per bottle (max 20 bones) | Non-Undine bonus: 5
★★☆☆☆ Jellyfish Rave
The ever chaotic and changing tides of the sea have knocked the migrating Rainbow Jellyfish off course for their mating season and if they do not make it to the Violet Drop in time, it is likely they will be too stressed to conduct their mating ritual properly. Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to herd the jellyfish to the Violet Drop. Just be wary of predators like giant squid, as well as the Rainbow Jellyfish's hypnotic tentacles.REWARDS: 20 Bones | Non-Undine Bonus: 10 bones
★★☆☆☆ The Wreck of The Leviathan (part 1)
Out in the ship graveyard of Anchor Wash, rumor tells of the Leviathan, a massive merchant vessel that sank many years ago. Divers have tried and failed to retrieve the treasures inside - jewels and gems and a great many bones - due to the rough currents and aggressive sea life. A group of daring young Undine have taken on the challenge, but they have not been seen for days. Search the area around Anchor Wash for clues or, heaven forbid, remains of the four adventurers.
(Three of the four adventurers can be found around the wreck, while one seems to still be missing. His friends tell you that he went into the Leviathan and they're too afraid to go after him - insisting that you shouldn't either and that further assistance will be needed. It's probably best you listen).
REWARDS: 30 Bones | Non-Undine Bonus: 10 bones
SYLPH QUESTS
★★☆☆☆ The Graveyard in the Sky
Recently, an old battlefield filled with centuries old airship wreckages has been located--and the Heaven's Bow Archaeological Society wants to hire adventurers to scout it out. Anything deemed of value will be rewarded handsomely, but be careful: several wind sprites seem to have made the wreckage their home, causing the area to become stormy and dark; without proper precautions, you may be swept up in a tempest wind and thrust into the sea far, far below the sky. There have also been haunting tales of the spirits of those lost in battle drifting through the clouds... REWARDS: Cleansing the area of wind sprites: 20 bones | Evidence of spiritual activity: 10 Bones | Historical artifacts returned: 5 Bones each (20 max bones) Non-Sylph Bonus: 10 Bones
★☆☆☆☆ Counting Sheep
A bout of insomnia has swept across Caldera! Thankfully, we have just the solution: a special wool found only in a special breed of sky sheep that is perfect for mattresses, pillows, and even sleeping masks--it's just like sleeping on clouds! The catch is that the wool is in an area far, far from any city and pretty difficult to carry in bulk. Oh, also, the sheep are pretty hostile and have not been properly sheared for several decades. If you can shear the sheep without hurting them, you will be rewarded handsomely!
REWARDS: 5 Bones per pound (20 bones) | Uninjured sheep bonus: 10 Bones | Non-Sylph bonus: 10 Bones
★★☆☆☆ Dirty Business
Gold Reach is the general port city for the dirt required throughout the Sky, contributing to the ability of non-flying creatures to roam the streets and paths between cities. Unfortunately, much of this land has been falling back to the ground faster than it can be replenished. The dirt required needs to be gathered from a specific place that is inhabited by a small family of owlbears. Any dirt gathered and brought back to Gold Reach would be much appreciated--and any feathers to help the spells needed to keep the dirt afloat would be useful, too!REWARDS: bags of dirt: 10 Bones (max 30 bones) | Owlbear Feathers: 20 Bones each (max 40 bones) | Non-Sylph bonus: 5 Bones
★★☆☆☆ Tea for Three
A local woman by the name of Carolina Grace has requested your assistance in gathering the supplies she needs for her very special scone recipe and she needs it before her weekly brunch with her dearest friends. She's requested you gather some cloudberries from just outside Dusklight, where they are granted just enough shade to grow the juiciest berries. And do mind the thorns, as they like to prick your skin and tend to wrap themselves around those that pluck them. The blood is expected, really, and should not harm the crop. And if eating any of the cloudberries induces a deep slumber... well, it's simply your imagination.REWARDS: 10 bones per bag (max 30 bones) - getting pricked will make you drowsy and eating berries might put you into a coma. | Non-Sylph Bonus: 5 Bones
★★☆☆☆ For Whom the Bell Tolls (part 1)
Though the Stormlands have been thought abandoned for several centuries, recently nearby settlements have been claiming to hear a bell ringing throughout the land. Though none are brave enough to enter the Stormlands, the village officials have banded together and created a reward for any Visitors willing to investigate the phenomenon. It should be noted that few ever return from the Stormlands, and those that do often refuse to speak of what they encountered there. Perhaps the bell is being rung by a party wishing for rescue? Or maybe it's something more sinister...
Your party will not be able to reach the bell. The officials just want some information gathered from various settlements around the Stormlands to reported back to them.
REWARDS: 30 Bones | Non-Slyph Bonus: 10 Bones.
NSFW QUESTS
Bon Bon Bone (Part 1)
Cloudy Candy Co., a popular candy producer, has branched out into treats laced with aphrodisiacs. Their research and development team is always looking for people to try their latest test batch and leave a thorough review. After enough reviews have been submitted, the R&D department will take the information into consideration and develop a second line of aphro-candy.These are the sexy snacks available for testing:
Dickorice: Licorice with a pleasant chewy texture that really fills the mouth. Once consumed, those without a penis receive one along with heightened sexual endurance, and those with a penis receive the heightened endurance. That’s the standard red flavour, that is. There are some experimental flavours for those looking to try something different: sour green apple (knotted penis), blueberry (tentacle), and grape (double dicks).
Cuntconut Creams: Clusters of rich coconut cream and flakes dipped in chocolate. The cream is so rich and enticing, one will feel tempted to just stick their tongue in and lap it all up. Once consumed, those without a vagina receive one along with heightened sensitivity, and those with a vagina receive the heightened sensitivity.
SubMints: Light mint cream in a chocolate coating (like After Eights). Eating these makes one feel more submissive in sexual situations.
Mine Gummies: Wine gummies, rich in flavour that go down smooth. Eating these makes one feel more dominant in sexual situations.
Tonguefee: Crispy, crunchy toffee. Eating these makes one highly inclined to perform, and derive pleasure from, oral sex. The consumer will be able to climax from satisfying their partner.
Notes: The effects of any candies that generate a new set of genitals are temporary (lasts a few hours). Whether the effect creates the new genitals alongside the characters current set, or replaces them, is up to player discretion. Also, all candies are hypoallergenic, regardless of a character’s previous/established allergies.
REWARDS: 10 Bones for all factions per (handwaved) candy review (max 50)
Devious Dice
Your standard sexy couples’ dice with a Caldera twist. You choose a position die, then either/or a pace or place die. They absorb the energy created by sexual acts in accordance to their rolls. Once rolled, the top sides will glow until the scenario they create is fulfilled. The entirety of the dice will glow once they’ve absorbed enough energy; the characters can turn them in for their rewards from there. (How long it takes for them to fill up is up to player discretion.) Characters can choose between a two-person or three-person version. The dice are as follows:
Position die (two-person): D8. This die portrays two generic figures, one black and one red, in various sexual positions. Red is generally the bottom/receiver. Characters using the dice choose who will take what position as they wish. The positions are: Oral (black giving to red), Oral (red giving to black), 69, Mating Press, Cowgirl, Spooning, Doggy-style, Free Choice
Position die (three-person): D8. This die portrays three generic figures - black, red, and blue - in various sexual positions. Characters using the dice choose who will take what position as they wish. The positions are: Oral Daisy Chain, Double Penetration Cowgirl (cowgirl plus one behind receiver), Spitroast, Double Cowgirl (one on face, one on dick), Doggy-style + 69 (two in doggy-style, one beneath 69-ing with the receiver), Voyeur (one watches the other two), Double Oral (two partners orally pleasuring one), Free Choice
Pace die: D6. Used to set the pace. The options are: Slow and Gentle, Slow and Hard, Fast and Gentle, Fast and Hard, Alternate Slow and Fast, Free Choice
Place die: D6. Used to pick a location. The options are: Bedroom, Living Room, Kitchen, Balcony/Garden, Shower/Bath, Free Choice
Devious Dice Advanced
A more advanced sexy dice game for those of more adventurous inclinations. No special dice for this one, just one regular D6 - but you roll it twice, and pick something from the accompanying chart based on the rolls. The first roll determines the row, the second one determines the column. So if you roll a 3, then a 1, you do “pinch nipples”. Bring your own safeword.
REWARDS: 10 Bones for all factions (max 50)
Sexual Healing
No, really. The healers of the regions find their powers dimming, and you can help - by getting it on with another person. The healers will siphon the energy generated by your sexual activity and use it to continue healing. Do your part by doing it. Characters can choose whether they want to do the deed in private, or in the presence of the healers. If in private, their energy will light a lantern in the room, which the healers will draw from later. If in the presence of the healers, they'll siphon the energy directly. The healers do not participate.
REWARDS: 10 Bones for all factions (max 50)
SPECIAL QUESTS
★★★★★ Death Wish Coffee Co.
Admiral Aella is very particular about how she takes her coffee and unfortunately in the land of Caldera, the ingredients she requires are... difficult to procure. As such, the local roastery and coffee shop in Heaven's Bow has named themselves Death Wish Coffee Co (any resemblance to real life coffee roasteries is purely coincidental). They have requested help from adventurers in acquiring ingredients.
The coffee beans themselves are located in a cave far outside of Grey Ward and surrounded by giant moths who tend to ruin the crop by feeding on the fruit. Though the moths are mostly harmless, they are sneaky and don't mind landing on adventurers to eat their clothes and any supplies they may have brought with them.
Next would be the cream. Aella demands only the finest milk from the fearsome banshee dolphin: a creature that bullies its victims with a wail that may leave one with temporary or permanent deafness if caught unprepared. To soothe the dolphins and gain their trust, you must sing them a song they have not yet heard. Once a trusted ally of the banshee dolphins, they will allow you to come close and gather their milk.
Sugar is by far the most dangerous ingredient to gather. In the barren cloudscapes far outside of Heaven's Bow, there are massive wyrms that dwell in the clouds. These wyrms are worshipped by a small faction of devout Sylphs, and are considered a holy creature. These wyrms also produce the best sugar: light and airy, spun like cotton candy within the clouds themselves. These wyrms are unfortunately aggressive and see with echolocation, so remaining quiet is a must.
And one final warning: don't talk to Aella before she's had her coffee.
REWARDS:
coffee fruit: 20 bones
uninjured moths: 10 bones
milk: 30 bones
sugar: 30 bones
uninjured wyrms: 50 bones
